3D rendering places special demands on the computer’s processor and graphics subsystem. Let’s try to assemble a configuration with one video card, which will allow you to draw three-dimensional scenes with relative comfort and at the same time not hit your pocket hard.

Our build is designed to work with such render engines as Octane Render, V-Ray, Cycles, etc. However, keep in mind that the configuration does not claim to be the highest performance. This assembly is a compromise between relatively low cost and decent performance.

Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
Our build processor will be AMD’s 8-core Ryzen 7 3700X. In render benchmarks*, AMD’s processor performs similarly to the Intel i9 9900K . But at the same time, the cost of the processor from the red ones is 30% lower than the processor from the blue ones. Given this difference, the Ryzen 7 3700X is a good candidate for our build.

Motherboard: ASRock X570 Extreme4
The motherboard of our configuration will be an inexpensive ASRock X570 Extreme4 chipset with a good processor power system. This, if necessary, will allow resorting to overclocking. In addition, the X570 Extreme4 has all the latest interfaces that will be relevant for many years to come.

Case: ABKONCORE Cronos 650
3D rendering involves long-term operation of the system at maximum loads. Therefore, the body for our assembly needs the most ventilated. Let’s focus on the inexpensive ABKONCORE Cronos 650, which will not only save the budget, but also, thanks to support for up to seven 140 mm fans, will reduce the temperature of our system.

Video card: KFA2 GeForce RTX 2060 Super
The graphics subsystem of our configuration will be responsible for the RTX 2060 Super. RTX 2060 Super can compete (sometimes slightly behind) RTX 2070, RTX 2070 Super, and even RTX 2080, as render benchmarks* show. -40%. But their cost, respectively, is two and three times higher. This is not the most rational for the budget, and in our case, even a small one.

CPU cooler: Thermalright True Spirit 140 Power
Let’s take the processor cooling system with a margin and stop at Thermalright True Spirit 140 Power. Firstly, low temperatures are always useful, and secondly, a productive cooler will give you the opportunity to put your hands on the BIOS and overclock the processor. Of course, if you need to increase system performance.

RAM: Patriot Viper 4 Steel 16 GB x 4 pcs
Working with complex scenes that contain multi-polygonal models requires an impressive amount of RAM. At the same time, high frequency and low timings play a secondary role. Let’s focus on the Patriot Viper 4 Steel, which costs a little more than its less “frequent” opponents. With four slats, we will gain a volume of 64 GB.

SSD: A-Data XPG SX6000 Pro 512 GB
As a drive, we will focus on a 512 GB SSD – A-Data XPG SX6000 Pro. This is an inexpensive NVMe drive that lacks stars from the sky, but we don’t need it. What will an incredibly fast drive give when the entire scene to render is already loaded into RAM? That’s right, nothing.

Power supply: be quiet! DARKPOWER PRO 11 750W
Powering a system that most of the time is under load close to maximum is not a task for simpletons. We take DARK POWER PRO 11 from be quiet! certified 80 Plus Gold. 750 W of power is enough with a margin, for example, if there is a need for a second video adapter.

Case fans: Arctic Cooling P14 PWM PST CO x 3 pcs
Our ABKONCORE Cronos 650 case is already equipped with one 140mm fan, which is located on the back of the case. This may not be enough to cool our system under load. Let’s add 3 more fans from Arctic Cooling: one for the top panel, and two for the front.

I want it cheaper!
When working, do you usually build scenes with simple models, or are there not many models in the scene? You can save about 13,000 rubles by reducing the amount of RAM to 32 GB. And if suddenly there is not enough RAM, then you can always buy it in addition. In extreme cases, you can squeeze out a little more money and take a simpler processor cooler. For example, a tower cooler from Deepcool .

I want an upgrade!
Need even faster rendering speed? Then we add another GeForce RTX 2060 Super video card and we get a double increase in rendering speed. Well, almost double

If large projects of tens or even hundreds of gigabytes are used in the work, it makes sense to increase the disk subsystem by adding HDD .
